Friend,

This week, I held two more in-person town halls, marking 30 in-person town halls total across Iowa! There is nothing more important to me than hearing from those I represent. From questions about securing our border, the importance of unleashing domestic energy production as gas prices continue to rise, to expanding mental health care access across our state – I appreciate everyone's thoughtful questions and contributions to our conversations this week.

Whether we agree or disagree, Iowans will always know where I stand on important issues, and I will continue working to make DC run more like the great state of Iowa!

For those who couldn't make it to our in-person town halls over the past few weeks, we're hosting a telephone town hall this coming Thursday, August 31st, at 7:00 p.m. To join, call the number below and stay on the line to be connected – I hope you can join!

Best,

WATCH: Bidenomics

As I've traveled across Iowa, I continue to hear about the pain caused by Bidenomics. Americans are paying $709 more a month than they were two years ago for the same goods and services, mortgage rates are at a 20-year high, and gas prices are on the rise that is Bidenomics in action.

I joined Fox Business to discuss the need for commonsense economic policies ending government waste, tax cuts for middle-class families, and unleashing domestic energy to revive our economy and reverse the disastrous impacts of Bidenomics. Watch my interview here.

Poll: Electric Vehicle Mandates

The Biden Administration wants to force everyone to buy an electric vehicle, regardless of if you want one or not. Under Biden’s proposed mandates, 67% of all vehicles would have to be electric by 2032, with the goal of eliminating the internal combustion engine altogether.

This ridiculous plan also ignores the fact that the EV supply chain relies on slave and child labor in China. And besides – the government shouldn’t be telling families what kind of car they’re allowed to drive in the first place.

My minivan just hit 200,000 miles. I’m not planning on switching to an electric vehicle anytime soon...or ever, and that’s my choice. I’ll continue to fill up my van with E-85 as I travel around the district and take my boys to school and hockey practice.

As this conversation heats up in Washington, I need your opinion so that I can continue to advocate for Iowans. Take my poll and let me know what you think of the Biden Administration’s electric vehicle mandates.

Do you agree with Biden's electric vehicle mandates?
Yes - I support federal EV mandates
No - I want to choose what car I drive

Bear Creek Dairy Visit

Thank you to Dorine Boelen for the informative tour of their family farm — Bear Creek Dairy — in Brooklyn this week. Their whole family is passionate about farming, caring for their animals, and providing high quality dairy products!

Tama County Town Hall Meeting

Thanks to everyone who came to my town hall in Tama! We discussed border security, reining in government spending, and increasing mental health resources. I’ll continue traveling to every corner of the district to hear from Iowans.

Belle Plaine Main Street

I had a great afternoon meeting with family owned small businesses in Belle Plaine! We heard stories about these Main Street shops being passed down from generation to generation and I want to do everything I can to keep rural main streets like this one thriving.

Meyer Pharmacy

I stopped by the Meyer Pharmacy in Waverly. They are a small, family-owned pharmacy that has served the community for over 100 years. Thank you for your commitment to providing Iowans with the best possible care and service.

National Pork Producers Meeting

It was great to join the National Pork Producers Council meeting in Manchester! We are working together to enact the EATS Act and stop the disastrous Prop 12 “bacon ban.” Iowa farmers don’t need radical activists who have never stepped foot on a farm to tell them how to do their job!

Buchanan County Town Hall Meeting

Thank you to everyone who joined me for my 30th in-person town hall meeting in Buchanan County! We discussed the importance of bolstering crop insurance in the Farm Bill, preventing China from buying U.S. farmland, and accountability for Biden’s disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal.
