The Week in Review
Happy Friday!
I hope you had a wonderful week. I am grateful to serve you all in the 118th Congress. Read below to see what I’ve been working on this week.
Defunding Corrupt DA Offices
This week, I introduced a bill to hold the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office, led by District Attorney Fani Willis, accountable for its unprecedented political prosecution of former U.S. President Donald J. Trump.
The Withholding Investments from Lawless Litigators in States or the WILLIS Act prohibits federal funds from being awarded to the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office and requires the Office to repay federal funds granted after January 1, 2021.
In April of this year, an investigation by the House Judiciary Committee found that Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg used federal funds in his politically motivated prosecution of Donald Trump. This week, Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) launched a similar investigation into Fulton County DA Fani Willis.
The indictments from the Fulton County Grand Jury are some of the weakest and most ridiculous I’ve ever seen. President Trump and the 18 others mentioned were indicted for mundane activities like sending a text message, making a phone call, reserving a conference room, and tweeting. This is a blatant attack on American freedoms.
Our national debt is at an all-time high. We cannot afford to have our federal government funding corrupt DA Offices’ quests for national fame through political witch hunts. I am thankful to Chairman Jordan for leading the investigation into Ms. Willis and look forward to the clarity and accountability it will bring.

Ensuring Overtime Pay for Customs and Border Patrol Agents
This week, I sent a letter to Mike Rogers (R-AL), Chairman of the House Committee on Armed Services (HASC), regarding overtime pay for Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) Agents. Section 11133 of the Senate version of the Fiscal Year 2024 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) would ensure that CBP Agents receive fair compensation for working hours beyond the call of duty. This provision would reinstate a policy in place before it was removed during the Obama Administration and would also bring CBP overtime levels into alignment with similar agencies, like Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). My letter urges Chairman Rogers to support inclusion of Section 11133 into the final text of the FY24 NDAA during the upcoming NDAA conference committee.
Our Customs and Border Patrol agents are some of the bravest and hardest working individuals America has to offer. This administration’s refusal to acknowledge the growing border crisis only makes these agents’ jobs harder. CBP agents are forced to work longer hours to make up for the Biden Administration’s incompetency.
These agents should, without question, be fairly compensated for the extra hours they serve protecting our national security. I’m thankful to my colleagues for their support and look forward to Chairman Rogers’ swift response.
Cosigners of the letter are: Rep. Greg Steube (R-FL), Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer (R-OR), Rep. Eli Crane (R-AZ), Rep. Nick Langworthy (R-NY), Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-NJ), and Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN).

Two-Tiered Justice on Full Display
Fulton County’s public release of Donald Trump’s mugshot is the latest stunt in the politically-motivated witch hunt of those who stand in opposition to the Biden Regime. Career politicians in DC have been gunning for Donald Trump since the day he stepped off his escalator in New York, and they’ve proven that they’re willing to go against the rule of law to prosecute him. The witch hunt of President Trump is a blatant attack on liberty.
While Biden’s cronies are busy attacking Trump, the DOJ continues to let the entire Biden Family Crime Syndicate walk free. This week, Oversight Chairman James Comer compiled a list of 16 times that Joe Biden outright lied to the American people about his involvement in Hunter’s corrupt foreign business deals. America’s Grifter in Chief must be brought to justice for his lies.
Americans will see straight through the attempts to vilify Trump while pretending that Joe Biden is a saint. I will continue to stand for President Trump and fight against the corruption in the Biden Administration.
