Team,
Tomorrow is Women's Equality Day, a day created to celebrate the anniversary of the 19th Amendment's ratification — a pivotal moment in our history that granted women the right to vote.
As we observe Women's Equality Day, let us reflect on the progress we have made and recommit ourselves to the ongoing journey toward gender equality. The 19th Amendment stands as a testament to the power of determination and the pursuit of justice. It signifies the tireless efforts of countless suffragists who fought against adversity to ensure that every voice could be heard, regardless of gender. Their legacy inspires us to continue advocating for equality in all aspects of life.
But team, the fight for gender equity and equal rights is far from over. Since the fall of Roe v. Wade, there have been unprecedented attacks on a woman's right to bodily autonomy, making it clear what's at stake in this election. Women's reproductive autonomy and right to basic health care are on the ballot this November – and it's up to us to ensure that the voices of the extremist few don't outweigh the will of the majority of Americans.
That's why I was proud to vote to pass the Women's Health Protection Act through the House, and will never stop fighting to get this critical legislation signed into law. Do you agree that it's time for Congress to pass the Women's Health Protection Act and codify a woman's right to reproductive choice, team?
It's an honor to represent you,
Derek
