Oklahoma,

Happy Friday! I hope everyone is staying cool in this heat. I’ve been on the road meeting with local officials, entrepreneurs, and business leaders to understand community needs and discuss how we can partner with our localities to solve problems and improve quality of life for Oklahomans. Check out the details below. If this email was forwarded to you, you may subscribe to my weekly e-newsletter HERE

It was great to be back at US Army Fort Sill with my colleague, Senate Armed Services Committee Ranking Member Senator Roger Wicker to meet with Base leadership, review live fire demonstrations, and receive an operations overview. We spoke about National Defense Authorization Act wins for Oklahoma, infrastructure development, and private/public partnerships driving innovation and cutting-edge technology in Lawton.

Senator Wicker and I are deeply committed to supporting base operations through the NDAA, and it was an honor to have the Ranking Member here to see how Oklahoma is leading the nation in supporting America’s warfighters. Thanks to Maj. Gen. Winston P. Brooks for hosting us for an outstanding and informative visit.

For nearly 100 years, the Claremore Area Chamber of Commerce has served as a leading voice for businesses in Claremore and Rogers County. During a recent visit to Rogers State University, I met with the Chamber to give an update from Washington, D.C., and answer questions on a broad range of issues.

A power outage halfway through the meeting wasn’t going to slow us down, as we tackled excessive government spending and inflationary pressure on businesses, combatting federal bureaucracy, infrastructure needs, and the crisis on our southern border. As I told the chamber, if we can bring Oklahoma values to Washington, our country would be in much better shape.

Thank you to everyone who was able to join our important conversation, and to Chamber President Barby Myers for extending the opportunity to visit with the Claremore community.

I recently sat down with the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce to discuss economic development, workforce challenges, and new updates to the Stillwater Regional Airport.

Thanks to Stillwater Mayor Will Joyce, City Manager Brady Moore, Economic Development Coordinator Reagan Mitchell, and Project Manager Mandy Lyons for taking the time to meet with me and my team.

I want to thank the Oklahomans who took their time to meet with this past month. I couldn't have asked for a more productive, informative August work period. For those sending children back to school or heading back to school yourselves, best wishes for a great year. Have a great weekend.

Thanks for reading my weekly e-newsletter! It’s an honor to represent the great state of Oklahoma in the U.S. Senate. You can stay in touch by following me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. As always, don’t hesitate to contact my office if we can help in any way.

God Bless!
