Congress needs to pass a temporary funding bill by September 30 to keep the government open while debate on annual spending continues. The House Freedom Caucus has set the stage for a government shutdown, issuing demands that threaten our nation's stability. Their far-right demands include :

Passing a hateful immigration bill.
Targeting the Justice Department and FBI for political purposes.
Ending policies they label as "cancerous woke" in the Pentagon, a vague term that could mean anything they disagree with.

These demands are dangerous, and they are pushing us toward a shutdown that will harm countless Americans.

The Freedom Caucus is clear about its intentions: they will force a costly shutdown unless they're allowed to force their unpopular, extremist agenda on the country. By knowingly setting conditions they know will never receive bipartisan support, their willingness to risk a government shutdown shows just how little they care about the people they serve.
