While the Legislature was in summer recess, I spent a lot of time in the district attending many events. I also spent time with my family, riding my bike, and preparing for the end of session. This week I am back in Sacramento for the last few weeks of this year's legislative session which will be pretty busy.

Just like I am committed to my job as your State Senator, I am committed to my health. After my surgery I took up cycling as a hobby and I have not stopped! I try to take a ride every chance I get, despite my work schedule.

During my time in the legislature I have championed and supported legislation to increase cyclist and pedestrian safety, infrastructure funding, and so many more policies that positively impact our transportation systems.

I want the opportunity to continue to advance these important issues in Congress and that is why I need to continue to raise money for our campaign. I thought of a fun way to help raise money while also helping me commit to my health journey.

My team is kicking off the Match My Miles challenge to help me reach my goal of cycling at least 500 miles by the end of session.[link removed] up to sponsor a day, or a week and I will match your dollars in miles to get to my goal 500. ([link removed])
