John,

This month in 1935, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed Social Security into law. Today, 88 years later, Social Security is still providing a crucial financial lifeline for millions of Americans.

Now, some Republicans are advancing proposals to make significant cuts to the Social Security benefits millions of seniors and people with disabilities depend on. We need to show the GOP that we won’t let them get away with this. Add your name to protect Social Security.

I distinctly remember Republicans' applause during President Biden’s State of the Union Address earlier this year when he said cuts to Social Security and Medicare were off the table.

Just a few months later, when the TV cameras were off, GOP budget proposals shamefully included massive cuts to these very programs—and they’re saying it’s only their first step.

Senate Democrats will keep fighting to strengthen and defend Social Security. But we need folks like you behind us, showing Republicans the strong support for this program across the country.

Don’t let the GOP threaten this vital program. Sign the petition to defend Social Security.
