Friend,
It’s a cage match in the Louisiana AG’s race.
Louisiana uses a jungle primary system — meaning that on October 14, our endorsed Democratic candidate, Lindsey Cheek, will be on the ballot right next to all the Republicans running for the same office. If no one candidate wins 50% of the vote, the top two candidates advance to a runoff election.
This unique system means that Lindsey is running against all the Republicans at once. So while we don’t have one single opponent, we do know for sure what they’ll stand for.
The Republicans running for AG would use the office to continue stripping away reproductive freedom, attack Louisianans’ rights, and put themselves and their allies’ interests before the state, just like the outgoing extremist Republican Attorney General has.
With less than two months until primary day, now is the time to collect our resources and support our Democratic candidates leading the way for a better future. Will you chip in $5, $10, or whatever makes sense to you today so we can elect more Dem AGs?
