Supporting Local Volunteer Projects

Touring the American River Parkway

The American River Parkway is a vital part of Sacramento County recreation and transportation, with over eight million visits annualy.

I’m advocating for $2 million in federal funding to help repair and repave four miles of the trail, ensuring the parkway can be enjoyed by all for generations to come.

Recently, I had the opportunity to visit the American River Parkway to review plans for for the repairs and improvements that this funding would support.

Championing Reproductive Health Care

Rep. Bera holds a press conference in Sacramento County on Reproductive Health Care

This month, I held a press conference at the Planned Parenthood Mar Monte Sacramento Health Center where I discussed my ongoing efforts to protect and expand reproductive health care. 

I am proud to have introduced the Reproductive Health Care Training Act, which aims to ensure the next generation of health care providers receive comprehensive training and education in reproductive care, regardless of where they reside or practice. 

I remain committed to protecting the reproductive health care rights of every American.

Addressing Passport Delays and Backlogs

Last week, I sent a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken expressing my deep concern regarding the delays in passport processing for California residents. I have also requested a State Department briefing to address processing times and the current backlog.
