We hope you have had a great week! It’s hard to believe we are nearing the end of August already. Congressman Kim has enjoyed all the visits across the district this month meeting with new and familiar faces at his town hall, business visits, and more.

This week, we celebrated National Senior Citizens Day! After delivering seniors huge savings on prescription drugs and insulin last year, Congressman Kim is committed to continuing to deliver for seniors’ needs. From supporting care providers, protecting social security benefits, to closing access gaps, we have local seniors' backs.

Well Wishes Ahead of the School Year!

While August is the official Back to School Month, students and teachers are heading into the classroom both this week and after Labor Day in September. Whenever it is, we want to wish our educators, students, and families good luck in the new school year!

For all our educators and school staff do for our community, we are proud to keep working to deliver the resources and support they deserve.

Congressman Kim’s Office Co-Hosts Constituent Services Fair

We were excited to see so many neighbors this Wednesday for a Constituent Services Fair in Mercer County! Co-hosted with Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman, over 40 agencies participated in the fair to bring their resources and helpful information right to our Mercer County neighbors.

ICYMI: Celebrating August’s Service Spotlight

As always, we are excited to showcase another local community member as our monthly Service Spotlight. In early August, the nation honors Purple Heart Day to show our appreciation for servicemembers wounded or killed while serving our nation. Our August Service Spotlight is a local and national hero, veteran, and Purple Heart recipient, Ron Dash.

For his service to our nation and our local senior and veterans community for the last 35 years, Congressman Kim presented Ron with a recognition in the Congressional Record of the 118th Congress and we were proud to celebrate him as our latest Service Spotlight. NEW RESOURCE: Inflation Reduction Act Tax Credits and Rebates

Our office recently launched a new webpage to bring you up-to-date information on how the Inflation Reduction Act could help you save money on your taxes.

Congressman Kim was proud to help pass the Inflation Reduction Act into law to lower health and energy costs for Americans, finally allow Medicare to negotiate down the cost of prescription drugs, as well as cap out-of-pocket costs for Insulin at $35 per month for seniors on Medicare. In 2026, the provision Congressman Kim co-wrote will go into effect and cap out-of-pocket prescription drug costs for seniors on Medicare at $2,000 per year (averages $166 per month).

Additionally, the Inflation Reduction Act invests in American energy production, and does more to combat climate change than any bill in history. Through this, millions of New Jerseyans are already eligible for tax credits that will make it easier and more affordable for them to upgrade to more efficient appliances, purchase an electric vehicle, install residential clean energy systems, and save money on their energy bills. All the tax credits are available as of January 2023, but it may take 1-2 years for the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities to implement some of the rebate programs.
