Tomorrow is Women’s Equality Day, John — the anniversary of the adoption of the 19th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, promising women the right to vote.
Women have come far in 103 years… and yet, for the first time in generations, it feels like we are moving backwards and seeing the freedoms our foremothers fought for get taken away.
Abortion, gender-affirming healthcare, birth control, a living wage – Brian Fitzpatrick and his fellow Republicans are attacking all of it. And the newest Republican in their primary for PA-01 has said, "It’s not proper for my wife or any other man’s wife to be leading the family… it's not as God intended."
It used to be that that kind of view was extreme for the GOP. But we heard the same sentiments from the main stage at their presidential debate this week.
I didn't join the Army, fly Apache helicopters in Kuwait and Iraq, and risk my life to see the very freedoms I fought for get taken away by politicians who think they should control every aspect of our lives.
So this Women's Equality Day, let's fight back.
I'm the only pro-choice candidate in this race. And I promise I will ALWAYS fight for our freedoms in the halls of Congress. I just need your help to get there. Will you pitch in to my campaign?
