Washington wildfires have once again thrust our communities into a state of emergency.

Knowing that the devastating impact of these fires has affected countless families, their homes, the ranches and farms that bring us sustenance, and our cherished landscapes gives us a heavy heart.

While our state lawmakers have taken significant strides to boost firefighting efforts at the state level, it is painfully clear that more effective forest management by federal authorities is needed.

If the federal government is going to claim the authority to protect the environment, the job MUST be done to safeguard lives, livelihoods and property rights!

The politicization of radical climate policies makes matters worse.

It is disappointing to see these heartbreaking fire disasters become an opportunity for elected officials to push decarbonization agendas that lead to yet even higher gas prices, along with the unrealistic demand that everyone purchase costly electric vehicles.

I know we can do better! We must address the wildfire crisis with urgency, prioritize effective forest management, and collaborate across party lines to protect our environment AND our economy.

As your Congresswoman, I am committed to holding federal bureaucrats accountable for any inaction and ensuring that our forests are managed appropriately. This is not a partisan issue; it's a matter of safeguarding our communities and preserving our environment for future generations.
