The Biden-Harris Administration announced it will automatically cancel student debt for more than 800,000 borrowers who have been repaying their loans for decades, righting a wrong for borrowers who were promised debt relief but fell through cracks in the system.

Thanks to Jim and Democrats passing the bipartisan infrastructure law, the Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority will receive nearly $26 million to build an electric transportation hub in Charleston -- helping connect our communities while keeping us on track to our clean-energy goals and combating climate change. The infrastructure bill is also sending over $551 million to South Carolina to expand access to high-speed internet, which will give our state the means to connect every household by 2026.

Jim discussed his concerns about the conservative majority on the Supreme Court and presidential candidates like Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis taking our country backward.

Jim joined President Biden to unveil the Emmett Till and Mamie Till-Mobley National Monument, which memorializes our country’s difficult history and the people who rose from those challenges, demanded better, and made us who we are as a nation.

On the Ballot 2024

John -- reproductive rights are on the ballot this election cycle. It’s been over a year since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, and since then, women across the country have seen rollbacks to their reproductive rights -- including South Carolina women following the passage of Republican lawmakers’ extreme new abortion ban. We’re gathering signatures from people who support restoring access to reproductive care nationwide. Will you add your name?
