Meet the 2023 Norman Y. Mineta
Spirit Award Recipient
Rohit Kataria  
Class of 2024, Vanderbilt University and Co-Director, The Asian American Advocacy Project 
Rohit Kataria is a driven senior at Vanderbilt University, excelling in public policy as a Cornelius Vanderbilt Scholar and College Scholars Honors program member. Rohit is recognized for his dedication to inclusive education and the advancement of Asian American Studies at Vanderbilt University and on a national level. We laud his efforts at the Asian American Studies Collaborative to push for Asian American Studies programs beyond Vanderbilt. 
The Norman Y. Mineta Spirit Award recognizes a youth advocate whose community-centered leadership has exemplified dedication, compassion, and resilience benefitting Asian Americans on a local or national level. The award was established in honor of the trailblazing legacy of former Secretary of Transportation, Norman Y. Mineta.
