Friend, being a team player means working toward something bigger than yourself.

Playing sports when I was young – soccer, baseball, and eventually football at Baylor and in the NFL – taught me that I couldn't just worry about myself. I had to see the bigger picture, put my teammates first, and make sure we were all in the best position for victory.

I don't know if Ted Cruz grew up playing sports – but it sure doesn't seem like it. To Ted Cruz, there's nothing bigger than his own ego. He's a one-man team and will do anything to hog the spotlight – no matter how extreme or selfish it may be.

Ted Cruz's team is Ted Cruz, but my team is Texas. I'm ready to put the needs of Texans before my own and be the leader our state truly deserves.

But right now, he's got MILLIONS in the bank. It's going to take a huge outpouring of grassroots support to defeat him, so please: Can you give $5 to my Democratic campaign for Senate? We need to raise $50,000 by midnight, and we're still $8,291 short. →

Friend, since I launched my campaign, this team has amazed me with its dedication and determination. Because of you, election experts like Roll Call and Inside Elections agree that I have what it takes to beat Ted Cruz.

But Ted Cruz will never play fair. His special interests and millionaire donors are giving him every dollar they've got – and in a race this close, we can't afford to fall behind.

I'm depending on grassroots supporters like you to help me fire Ted Cruz once and for all, so please: Will you give $25, $5, whatever you're able to? We have just hours left to hit our critical $50,000 daily goal.

Thank you for being a part of my team,

Colin
