Two weeks ago, when I announced our goal to raise $7 million before the Nevada caucuses, it was the most ambitious goal we ever set.
But then something incredible happened: This grassroots team came together and pitched in what they could. And we not only beat our goal, we doubled it — raising over $14 million before the deadline.
I am incredibly grateful for everyone who is fighting their hearts out right now to grow our movement for big, structural change. Thanks to this grassroots team, February is already our strongest fundraising month yet.
But we can't stop there. Not now. After Saturday, we'll file a public report on how much we've raised in February and how many people have chipped in to own a piece of our campaign, and we'll need those numbers to be as strong as possible.
If — and only if — we keep our heads down and fight side by side, we can beat the big banks, the fossil fuel giants, the huge pharmaceutical companies — everyone who's been rigging the rules and pulling the strings so our economy and our government only work for the wealthy and well-connected.
Together, we can end Washington corruption, rebuild the middle class, and save our democracy. But only if we keep growing our grassroots movement with grassroots donors in D.C. and across the country.
That comes down to making sure we have a strong February fundraising report and showing all the pundits, naysayers, and skeptics the strength of our movement.
