Next steps after GCSEs

GCSE Results

Well done to all our young people who received their GCSE results yesterday. Some will know what their next steps are having already secured a place at a Sixth Form or college, an apprenticeship or found work. But for those who have not yet decided what to do, help is at hand.

There is plenty of support and advice available to young people deciding what to do next following their GCSEs via Futures for You [ [link removed] ]

I would like to congratulate all of our young people and wish them all the best in their futures whatever decisions they make. Well done to parents too who have supported their young people through these stressful exams.

Free vitamins for Nottingham residents while pregnant

pregnancy vitamins

Nottingham City Council and Nottinghamshire County Council have secured funding to work with Maternity services at Nottingham University and Sherwood Forest Hospitals to provide free pregnancy vitamins to everyone while pregnant until April 2024.

Council teams have also secured funding to continue to offer free vitamin starter packs to everyone while pregnant for a further two years from April 2024 until March 2026. These are universal offers ? available to all, regardless of their eligibility for the Healthy Start Scheme. [ [link removed] ]

All?vitamins?will be purchased by community midwifery teams and offered as soon as possible in pregnancy and up until the baby is born.

If you are pregnant, you may not be getting enough vitamin C, vitamin D or folic acid, so these free supplements provide the correct amount of recommended vitamins you and your baby need.

It?s really important to take these vitamins to help support you and your baby?s development during pregnancy. If you have any questions on where to get your free vitamins and how to take them, you should ask your midwife or health visitor.

You may also be able to get free fruit, vegetables, milk while pregnant and until your child is four. Find out if you are eligible by visiting Get help to buy food and milk (Healthy Start) [ [link removed] ]
