John -
Since the last time I emailed you, the Supreme Court of South Carolina ruled to uphold the 6-week abortion ban legislators passed earlier this year.
You and I both know that we have to protect abortion access here in Virginia, not just for us, but for our southern neighbors as well. My Republican opponent will be the deciding vote on abortion access, and as seen in her latest ad, she will vote to further restrict this vital healthcare for Virginians.
Today my campaign is launching our latest ad to show that I am the only pro-choice candidate in this race. We know when voters hear our pro-choice message, we can and will win this election in November.
But here's the unfortunate news: our opponent is outspending us by a 2-to-1 ratio. We need your help to ensure our opponent does not drown out our message and mislead voters.
In the latest from Axios, Virginia is the last southern state that hasn’t enacted further restrictions (or outright banned) abortions since the fall of Roe v Wade last year.
But abortions are at risk here - my Republican opponent is trying to paint herself as moderate, but is on the record as saying that overturning Roe v Wade was the right thing to do. Her newest television ad is her latest attempt to gloss over her history of radical opinions.
With less than a month to go before Early Voting starts, it’s so important that we have the resources we need to ensure abortion access in Virginia remains legal. Because we know when voters hear our message - that we are the only pro-choice candidate in this race - we can and will win.
We saw it happen in Ohio earlier this month, when voters mobilized to shut out Republican attacks and now it’s Virginia’s turn to step up.
