Sat 26 August Arboretum
The Arboretum Beer Festival is back for a third year, bringing warm summer vibes to Nottingham’s historic green heart.
This all-day event will once again showcase dozens of great real ales and craft beers from local breweries and beyond, including Black Iris, Castle Rock, Hollow Stone, Thornbridge and many more. Located around the park’s Victorian bandstand, the event will blend the tasty food and beer selection with live music and entertainment.
Street food vendors will be curated by Bustler Market with plenty of choice to cater for all tastes and food preferences.
Kicking off at midday, there will be music and entertainment over two stages - the bandstand and the Acoustic Rooms pallet stage.
Final release tickets are £15 (plus booking fee) including a commemorative festival cup.
Open-Air Theatre: David Walliams' Bad Dad
Mon 28 August Nottingham Castle
Gilbert is a bit of a local celebrity. He was no other than the legendary ‘King of the Track’, Gilbert the Great. That was until a tragic accident put a stop to his track-racing days. Driven to desperate measures in order to provide for his son Frank, he agrees to become a get-away driver for the local baddies.
An open-air adaptation of David Walliams’ Bad Dad is the perfect summer family entertainment. So, pack your picnics, grab your wet weather gear or sun-cream (or both), something to sit on, and join Frank and Gilbert as they navigate their way through car chases and convicts in the struggle to escape the clutches of the local crime lord and clear Gilbert’s name.

This weekend: Nottinghamshire Day Festival
Sat 26 August Sherwood Forest
Celebrate our great county with the Nottinghamshire Day Festival this weekend. The date marks the anniversary of the start of the English Civil War, an event triggered by Charles I raising the royal standard at Nottingham Castle in 1642.
Throughout the day there will be a host of interactive events and activities including storytelling, guided walks, medieval musicians, quizzes, archery, axe throwing and more!
Back by popular demand, crowd favourites The Sherwood Outlaws will be returning to bring the legend of Robin Hood to life with their all-action arena show.
Entry to the festival is free.
