August 25th, 2023 It has been another extraordinary week here at America First Legal. This week, America First Legal was in federal court in Texas, litigating one of the most important cases in the country. We are co-counsel to the State of Texas and partnering with a coalition of 20 states to stop the most extreme of Biden’s open borders policies. The epicenter of Biden’s open borders scheme is the illegal use of “parole” to import hundreds of thousands of illegals into the country. In other words, Biden is not merely suspending the enforcement of immigration law, but he is actively escorting inadmissible aliens, who are not present at a border or port of entry, into the interior of the United States for up to two years. This is the largest executive amnesty program in history. These unauthorized aliens will not only have a form of legal status and deportation immunity but also the ability to become permanent residents with green cards (and thus a path to citizenship). Not content with the immigration and visa laws passed by Congress, Biden has, through imperial decree, created his own visa for illegals — the most radical and lawless border nullification scheme in history. If he is successful, it’s the end of all immigration control. Our case seeks to shut down this illegal and unconstitutional program.
In addition to this historic litigation, this week we launched multiple investigations into the federal government and private entities for undermining parental rights in schools. Also, America First Legal proudly filed an amicus brief in support of the State of Alabama in a case in which the State secured a massive win this week at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. The Eleventh Circuit Court's decision overturned a lower court order that had enjoined a law protecting children from chemical castration and other radical transgender procedures.
