Jack, the top Republican presidential candidates had their first debate Thursday night. As most of us know, the frontrunner skipped the debate because he had to be in Georgia the next day to turn himself into authorities to be arraigned on multiple charges, including conspiring to overturn the 2020 elections.

Let me repeat that: The frontrunner for the Republican presidential nomination is being charged with conspiring to overturn an election.

Wait, it gets worse. When asked during the debate, the majority of GOP candidates said they would support twice-impeached, four-times-indicted Trump if he became the nominee.

The fact that Trump could be the Republican nominee is maddening. If he returns to the White House, our democracy could be doomed.
