Students are back in the classroom, and state legislators are about to be back in the state capitol: There’s a special session coming up, and our state’s education program is going to be on the table.

The Texas Legislature ended its regular session without passing school vouchers, but Governor Abbott isn’t giving up. He’s planning to call legislators back to Austin and force them to consider his “school choice” plan all over again.

The last thing we should be doing is taking money away from our public schools when they are already underfunded. We need to increase public school funding, not gut it, and we need to take care of our teachers who continue to be underpaid for their hard work.

That’s why we’ve been holding legislators accountable and demanding—from calls and emails, to our Mothers Report Card, and more, Mothers Against Greg Abbott is fighting for our kids and their teachers.
