In case you didn’t catch last night’s Republican debate, we’ll fill you in:

Our democracy isn’t a priority for the Republican presidential candidates. In fact, they have proven records of attacking it.

A majority of the candidates weren’t willing to denounce Donald Trump’s attempts to overturn the results of a free and fair election — six out of eight said they’d still support him as the party’s nominee if he’s convicted. They didn’t explain how they’d ensure that anti-democratic threats like this never happen again. And they have extensive records of attacking the freedom to vote.

So we’re fighting back — building up our large-scale organizing program to protect voters’ access to the ballot box from these extremists, mitigate any voter suppression attempts that come from their allies, and elect voting rights champions up and down the ballot.

It’s not just that these Republican presidential candidates don’t have concrete plans to protect our democracy.

We also know that if elected to the highest office in the country, these candidates will bring their anti-democratic agendas along with them.

From Ron DeSantis’ signing of some of the most extreme voter suppression laws in the nation as Governor of Florida, to Nikki Haley’s designing of a voter ID law so burdensome the Department of Justice temporarily blocked it, they’ve proven the lengths they’ll go to to silence voters and tilt power in extremists’ favor.
