Hey John,

It’s Anderson, Chair of the North Carolina Democratic Party. I ran for this seat back in 2022 because I was tired of the narrative that Democrats couldn’t win in North Carolina, and I was tired of folks saying that our communities didn’t deserve to be heard.

I knew I needed to be part of the action in our state to make change happen. And change is exactly what I’m trying to create as Chair of our Party. After the 2020 election, my friend Wiley Nickel was equally tired of hearing that Democrats couldn’t win here. After all, Joe Biden only ended up losing North Carolina by just over a point!

So Wiley decided to run, and he won the new 13th District in 2022. Democrats barely lost the House, and Wiley defeated a dangerous extremist in Bo Hines and proved his strength as a candidate. And that’s got the GOP worried.

Kevin McCarthy is going to do everything he can to defeat Wiley in 2024, but I’m telling you we can protect his seat if we all work together. So, I’m asking if y’all can split a donation between the North Carolina Democratic Party and Wiley’s campaign to protect his seat and help us elect Democrats across our state in 2024.

Look, I’m an organizer at heart. I believe in the power of people and collective action. And I know in my bones that we can make sure it’s a battleground every single year by running strong candidates in every race up and down the ballot and putting in the time and effort to organize and mobilize our friends, family, and communities.

Wiley is a perfect example of a candidate who saw an opportunity to win a race and pick up a seat – and he took it. So I’m asking you to stand with me and stand with him in 2024.
