John,

The first Republican primary debate of the 2024 presidential race took place last night. Our hot take: lots of hot air, barely a word in for gun safety. We’ve got our work cut out for us.

Here are our main takeaways from the first debate:

— After a nearly two-hour circus, barely a single word was said about the leading cause of death for American children: gun violence

— GOP politicians would rather talk about banning books in schools, our right to choose, and trans health care than keeping kids safe and alive

Instead of discussing gun safety solutions, the candidates attacked teachers, threatened to tear apart the American public school system, and fear mongered. We shouldn’t be surprised. So we’re prepared to counter their misinformation and violent rhetoric with action and to fight for leaders who will keep us safe.

We cannot allow these corrupt, pro-NRA politicians anywhere near the White House. Chip in any amount to help fight back by electing gun safety champions up and down the ballot →

Poll after poll shows that addressing gun violence is at the forefront of young voters’ minds. During last year's midterms, young people made it clear that neither party can win elections without our support.

Now more than ever, we must be ready to push back against the extremist, dangerous pro-gun agenda our leaders are pushing and protect our children from bloodshed.

The 2024 election is officially underway, and so is our work to make sure we elect gun safety champions. How much we can do depends on how much grassroots supporters like you pitch in. Pitch in now:
