Team,

Today we released two new polls that show this race is dead even with about nine months to go until Election Day. Mitch can be defeated—and Amy is the candidate who can get it done.

Take a look—and chip in if you want to help break the tie:

McGrath: 40%
McConnell: 43%
Margin of Error: 3.5%
Garin-Hart-Yang, Jan 8-13, 2020

McGrath: 41%
McConnell: 41%
Margin of Error: 2.8%
Change Research, Jan 15-20, 2020

These polls confirm an earlier AARP poll that showed McConnell up by 1, and the underlying numbers are even worse for Mitch. Among the voters who are undecided, only 9% think he’s doing a good job. That’s … very bad for his chances of getting re-elected.

Some pundits seem to think Mitch is untouchable. There’s a conventional wisdom in D.C. that his power-hungry partisanship makes him more likely to get re-elected.

These polls show the opposite is true. Kentucky voters are more than ready to move on from Mitch—and Amy is in a perfect position to win.

A lot will happen between now and November. Right now, it’s neck and neck—Mitch might have had the advantage at the beginning, but the numbers show we have the momentum today.
