Despite passing the initial budget in the House, Republicans in the Senate forced us into weeks of waiting in a bad faith attempt to add a school voucher program to the budget appropriations.
To them, stripping our students’ constitutional right to a fair and fully funded public education is more important than lowering costs and improving Pennsylvanians’ overall quality of life.
While Governor Shapiro ultimately line-item vetoed the voucher program within our budget, we know his veto hasn’t ended talks of enacting these programs through our General Assembly.
