Warning: This email contains references to sexual assault.
Hi John,
Today, Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein was convicted of felony sex crime and rape. The New York Times called this a “watershed moment for the #MeToo movement.”
Weinstein now faces a possible sentence of between five and 29 years.
For many, this trial was a crucial moment in the fight to hold “powerful” men accountable for sexual assault. This will not be the last legal battle we fight, but today is an encouraging moment for our movement. We honor the brave survivors who spoke out and all the survivors everywhere who are leading this fight.
We’re asking you to sign our letter in solidarity with all the survivors who are processing this news. Now more than ever, we need to show these brave women that we will fight with them hand in hand for justice.

It has taken years of sounding the alarm, countless survivors sharing their painful, personal stories & persistent mobilizations to push our justice system to listen to our voices.
We will take time to feel every emotion that comes with this verdict and soon we will take time to discuss what this means in the fight for safety and autonomy over our own bodies.
Movements like #MeToo, #TimesUp, and Women’s March have encouraged survivors to speak out against their abusers and demand accountability. It does not matter how powerful or wealthy the accused might be, no one is above the law.
As women, femmes and allies, we have the power to amplify a message of unity and strength against abuse, harassment, or any kind of injustice. We are ready to push for a more accountable justice system for all survivors of sexual violence.
Will you sign our letter of support in solidarity with the survivors processing this verdict? In times like these, we need to make our voices heard loud and clear.
In solidarity,
Women's March Team
