John, last night’s GOP presidential debate in Milwaukee featured a whole lot of grievances and virtually no solutions for the pressing issues our country is facing.

Many acted as Donald Trump’s criminal defense attorneys before a Fox News audience.

They offered no solutions for the climate crisis, attacks on reproductive freedom, or the ongoing assault on our democracy.

In fact, many of their “solutions” would make these problems much worse.

They demagogued immigrants, pushed backwards policies in our education system, and cynically tried to divide us up.

At times, the GOP debate felt like a competition for second place — the privilege of being the running mate of one of the most dangerous demagogues our country has ever seen, who couldn’t even be bothered to show up.

John, no matter who GOP voters nominate — and I have a pretty good guess as to who that might be — we need to be prepared to help President Biden and Vice President Harris win re-election. The stakes are simply too great, and these GOP candidates are too extreme for the challenges we must come together to solve.

That’s why I’m asking:
