Two grand juries of everyday Americans have now indicted Donald Trump for his criminal conspiracy to overthrow the will of the people, from inciting supporters to deadly violence on January 6th to asking government officials in Georgia to falsify votes.

But how he has conducted himself since the indictments carries scary implications.

Trump has defied the admonitions of judges not to post messages on social media that smack of tampering with witnesses, juries, and justice. His followers (who appear to trust him more than they trust their own family) have taken it upon themselves to intimidate jurors and election officials.

A president who attempted to overthrow an election that he lost will do all he can to obstruct the judicial effort to hold him accountable.

The news media (at all levels and across the political spectrum) must start treating Trump for what he is: a danger to our democracy and a threat to our government. And political leaders must prepare for the worst-case scenario in 2024 if he does attempt to do this again.
