Hi John, Emma here – campaign manager for George Whitesides in CA-27.

With exactly a week to go in August, I wanted to reach out with an update on where things stand here at Whitesides HQ and in this race. But first, I have a quick favor to ask:

It’s been a slow fundraising month, so we’re hoping to turn things around by raising $15,000 before the end of August. Will you chip in any amount to help us start this push off strong?

Here’s the good news: we’re building a strong coalition of support across the Santa Clarita and Antelope Valleys -- and garnering major endorsements from Reps. Adam Schiff, Eric Swalwell, and Anna Eshoo. Folks from all walks of life are expressing support for George’s track record of innovative leadership and problem-solving.

But here’s what’s giving me pause: National Republicans are preparing to funnel massive sums into races like ours. In fact, Kevin McCarthy’s dark money super PAC recently announced it’s investing $100 million to target swing districts in blue states -- just like ours. We know Mike Garcia will be getting a significant chunk of this massive investment.

That’s why this end-of-month push is so important -- we need to show that we have what it takes to weather the storm of attacks that right-wing dark money will buy.
