Hi John,
This week, Rohingya refugees mark their sixth year away from home.
Tariqul* is one of thousands who fled the violence in Myanmar, setting out on a treacherous five-day trek.
“We had to cross mountains [and] slippery slopes,” the 13-year-old remembers. “I was terrified by the sound of gunfire.”
His family saw destruction along the path to Cox’s Bazar, the world’s largest refugee camp. It’s safer there — but the support they rely on is at stake.
John, if Congress cuts funding for lifesaving humanitarian programs, kids will suffer the consequences.
Serious shortages have already reduced food rations and protection services in Cox’s Bazar — and children like Tariqul just can’t afford to lose more.
The same goes for millions more kids affected by war, hunger and climate disasters worldwide. In the face of so much devastation, support is essential in helping them survive and thrive — because every child deserves a childhood.
These cuts would cost lives, John. Please urge Congress to reject them.
Thanks for being a voice for kids,
