We need a government that puts people first, John.

What does that mean? When it’s time to vote on defense spending, we need representatives who will fight tooth and nail to fund our veterans’ healthcare system before awarding contracts worth tens of billions of dollars to defense companies.

Sadly, that type of people-first leadership is in short supply in Northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula.

Every cycle, Rep. Bergman receives massive donations from Lockheed Martin while voting to uphold (and even expand) their military contracts.

The same with Boeing.

He also receives contributions from Honeywell, General Dynamics, Northrop Grumman, and numerous other companies who want big contracts with the federal government.

The uncomfortable truth is that when Rep. Bergman has to choose between funding expensive new missile systems and adequately funding the VA for our veterans, those big campaign contributions that help him get re-elected give him a strong incentive to put those corporations first, well ahead of our veterans and active duty service members.

As a representative, Callie will always put YOU first. She’s spent years working in service to others — first as a teacher, then fighting for veterans’ rights, and now as a candidate vying for the First District’s support. And she won’t forget her roots once she gets to Congress.

If you’re tired of the hypocrisy, please consider chipping in $10. Unlike Callie’s opponent, she doesn’t get massive contributions from big companies. Instead, we rely on people chipping $5 or $10 a time, and we need your help to hit our big end-of-month fundraising goal!
