Friend — This month marks one year since Congress passed the Inflation Reduction Act , the largest investments in clean energy and climate in U.S. history.
This achievement would not have been possible without our movement pushing year after year for transformative action on climate change.
In 2019 we introduced the Green New Deal resolution for the first time in Congress, calling for a swift transition to 100% clean energy while providing good-paying union jobs and lifting up affected communities.
In 2020 we rallied the climate movement here in Massachusetts to help Ed win reelection and prove that climate action is a winning issue.
In 2021 we inaugurated a new President who, unlike Trump, sees the urgency of this crisis and understands the need to act right now.
And in 2022 we passed the Inflation Reduction Act, incorporating big ideas from the Green New Deal and finally putting our nation on the right track to a livable future.
Now, in 2023, it’s our job to keep this momentum going and this movement pushing forward. The next steps we take need to be even bigger and bolder if we are to save our beautiful planet in time.
