I just stepped off stage and I don’t see the adrenaline stopping any time soon. The crowd. The energy. The questions. It was unbelievable.
This is what I stand for: If you’re able-bodied, you work. If you take out a loan, you pay it back. If you commit a violent crime, you go to jail. And if you're a man, you should play sports against men. America needs more victors and less victims.
As I was walking off stage, I couldn’t help but think about my mama who worked 16-hour days as a nurse’s aide, changing bedpans and rolling patients. She taught me there’s dignity in all work and she made me the man I am today. I would NOT be backstage typing this out right now if it wasn’t for her. I love you, Mama.
