Friends, decades of little transparency and even brazen misinformation has built a strong level of distrust between American consumers and the companies that produce our food. But there is a path forward.
Our recent survey, conducted with Farm Forward, has shed light on the meat industry's impact on climate, animal welfare, and public health. The findings reveal a significant concern among Americans about the accuracy of food marketing, especially when it comes to antibiotic use in animal products:
- 69% of people worry about the origins of their food;
- Among top concerns, 50% list either misleading consumers about animal welfare or antibiotic use;
- 62% support testing and reporting for products labeled "antibiotic-free" or Animal Welfare Certified;
- 87% back mandatory antibiotic labeling.
People deserve to trust what they buy for their families & feel safe with what they eat – simple as that. Help support polling work like this that pressures lawmakers and regulatory agencies to take action to improve people’s lives here >>
