Friend,

We love when Alaska is in the national news… but not when it’s because a sitting Supreme Court justice accepted a fishing trip to Alaska bankrolled by a partisan, right-wing megadonor.

That’s Justice Samuel Alito in the center of the above photograph. The same Justice Alito who wrote last year’s Dobbs ruling overturning Roe v. Wade , and who has been accused of leaking advance information about Supreme Court decisions to high-powered Republican donors.

According to recent reporting, in 2008 Alito took a free ride on a private jet owned by GOP donor Paul Singer to an Alaska fishing trip in Bristol Bay — the world’s premier salmon run location. What’s even more disturbing is that Singer later had cases before the Supreme Court, cases that Alito helped decide.

Look, we welcome anyone who wants to relax and enjoy Alaska’s outdoors. We get it — we have a fabulous state . But we’d kindly ask visitors not to break any ethics rules or further degrade the Supreme Court’s credibility when traveling here. It’s not a good look.

Thankfully, Build Alaska’s Future Action Fund is working hard to elect common-sense leaders who exemplify responsibility and accountability — who will stop the extremists in DC that are brazenly threatening our rights. Will you make a donation to power our work and make Alaska a leader in electing common-sense leaders? [[link removed]]
