# [#]John,
Here are 3 steps that we can, and must take to reduce the human toll of gun violence:
1.
Raise
the
legal
age
to
buy
a
firearm
to
21:
Since
2018,
6
out
of
the
9
deadliest
mass
shootings
were
committed
by
killers
under
the
age
of
21.
Compared
to
those
21
and
older,
people
aged
18-20
commit
firearm
homicides
at
3
times
the
rate.
2.
3.
Promote
safe
storage:
3
out
of
4
school
shooters
obtained
their
weapon
from
either
home
or
a
close
relative,
and
3
out
of
4
youth
suicides
involved
an
unsecured
weapon.
4.
5.
Reinstate
the
assault
weapons
ban:
During
the
assault
weapons
ban
from
1994-2004,
mass
shooting
decreased,
and
then
had
an
immediate
increase
after
expiration.
John, this kind of real change is possible when we have leaders in office with frontline experience who are bold enough to take courageous action. These are just a few of the life-saving policies I will champion if elected to Congress, but I need your help to get me there. Can you chip in $ right away so I can be a vital voice towards this life-saving change nationwide? [[link removed]]

Through my career as a trauma surgeon, I’ve treated too many victims of gun violence – too many instances of preventable death and suffering due to firearms. It’s what inspired me to run for Congress, to advocate for immediate action to end this gun violence epidemic.
These steps have broad support from the majority of Americans that are ready to pass meaningful, life-saving gun safety legislation at a national level. I am ready to do the work in Congress to pass this legislation and represent you, but I can’t do it alone.
John, can I count on you to stand with me and contribute $ or anything you can today? [[link removed]]
Thank you,
Dr. Brian Williams
