John, can you fight for Texas students with us next week?
On Tuesday, Aug. 29, the State Board of Education (SBOE) will meet to review a list of proposed science textbooks for school districts in Texas. Our state has a long history of political battles over what schools can and can’t teach about climate change and evolution. Demand that the board listen to science experts and serve the best interests of students by adopting textbooks that teach the truth about these important topics! Testify at the meeting with us!

🔥What's at stake🔥
Texas is one of the country’s largest markets for public school textbooks. The materials adopted by the SBOE this year will inform how children across the country (not just in Texas!) learn about climate change, its effect on their future, and the steps needed to curb the crisis they’re inheriting — a crisis that’s increasingly immediate after fires stole homes in Central Texas and destroyed entire communities in Hawaii just this month. Interested but need support? TFN organizers are hosting virtual office hours tomorrow and Friday, from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. CST, to guide folks on how to draft their testimony and emails. We'll send you Zoom info after you pledge to testify. Can’t make it? You can still take action! Contact your state board members to tell them our kids deserve to learn the truth about climate change and evolution. Find your state board member. Children in Texas and across the country need and deserve to learn the truth about climate change. Their future is at stake. Tell the SBOE not to politicize the textbook adoption process!
