[1]Justice Democrats

John,

Justice Democrats has spent the last six years working to elect young,
diverse, progressive candidates who bring their lived experience — not
loyalty to corporate interests or industry lobbyists — to Congress, and
we’re seeing it make a difference.

Just look at Cori Bush. Justice Democrats rallied behind Cori in 2020 as
she went up against a long-time Democratic incumbent who was out of touch
with the people of Missouri’s 1st district, and won by a slim margin.

As a registered nurse, community activist, organizer, single mom, and
ordained minister, Cori was determined to do right by the people of St.
Louis and fight for everyone’s opportunity to thrive.

Just hours after violent right-wing insurrectionists stormed the U.S.
Capitol on January 6, 2021, Cori began her first term in Congress by
partnering with fellow Justice Democrats freshman member Jamaal Bowman to
introduce a resolution to remove every Republican representative who
supported overturning the 2020 presidential election.

As folks in Missouri and the rest of the nation continued to deal with the
ongoing challenges of the coronavirus pandemic, Cori went on to fiercely
fight for strong COVID relief packages, which led to her unforgettable
protest to extend the federal eviction moratorium.

When Congress adjourned for summer recess and vacations that August,
leaving the eviction moratorium with just hours left before it would
expire, Cori took a stand. As someone who’s been evicted and faced
houselessness first-hand, she couldn’t sit by and watch millions of people
get kicked out and forced into the streets. So, like the activist she is,
she slept overnight on the steps of the U.S. Capitol for days and (as the
New York Times described) “galvanized a full-on progressive revolt.”

Fellow Squad members and progressive activists joined her in solidarity,
and after making national headlines for her multi-day demonstration, Cori
learned the Biden Administration announced a 60-day eviction ban in
communities suffering most from COVID. Because of her action, countless
families across the country would continue to have a roof over their
heads.

Since then, Cori has continued to champion racial, social, health care,
and environmental justice and lead the movement to guarantee housing for
all — she’s even introduced legislation to end houselessness by 2025.
That’s because of people like you,
John.

Progressives like Cori are in positions of power because of the
groundswell of grassroots support we helped build during their races. If
we’re going to keep Justice Democrats incumbents like Cori in Congress and
elect MORE bright, young leaders like her to office, we’re depending on
your support.

[ [link removed] ]As Justice Democrats works to prepare for the fights ahead in 2024,
will you split $3 between JD and Cori Bush to fuel our
work? Any amount makes a real difference to support both JD’s work and
Cori Bush’s transformative campaign.

With your support, I can’t wait to see what else Cori and the rest of our
bold, progressive candidates do to challenge the status quo and improve
people’s lives.

Thank you,
