This month we celebrate several anniversaries reminding us that, with a little grit and determination, real progress is possible.

This month is the one-year anniversary of President Joe Biden signing "The Inflation Reduction Act,” a sweeping bill fought for and delivered by Suzan and her Democratic colleagues. The IRA was a major victory for working Americans that lowered prescription drug costs, created thousands of good paying jobs, made the tax code more equitable by making corporations pay their fair share, and made one of the biggest investments in our climate in our nation’s history. All without raising a penny in taxes on middle class Americans.

Last week also marked the 88th anniversary of the Social Security Act, one of the most transformational policies for working people in our nation’s history. The Social Security Act continues to serve as a vital safety net for millions of Americans.

As we celebrate these important milestones, we cannot lose sight of the extremist GOP attacks that threaten these vital programs. Not a single Republican voted in favor of the IRA, and nearly every year, Republicans devise yet another plan to end Social Security as we know it.

Suzan is committed to finishing the work Democrats started to lower costs, expand access to healthcare, defend reproductive rights, address climate change, and so much more.
