Alexandria recently reintroduced the Climate Emergency Resolution in the House to demand that President Biden use existing authority and emergency powers to combat the climate crisis. Now, Sunrise Movement is asking you to join the call.
While the Inflation Reduction Act made record-breaking climate investments, declaring a climate emergency under the National Emergencies Act would allow President Biden to take direct action against the climate crisis, including:
• Reinstating the crude oil export ban
• Ramping up domestic manufacturing of clean energy technologies
• Deploying resilient energy infrastructure and phasing out fossil fuel production on public lands and waters
• Ending our dependence on fossil fuels by massively deploying renewable, resilient energy
