If you know my husband, you know that he loves birthdays, John. Just about every day, Tom calls at least one friend or constituent to reconnect, wish them a happy birthday and make them laugh. My favorite day of the year is January 23rd — Tom’s birthday — when we all get to return the favor.

This year, Tom spent January 23rd serving as a juror in President Trump’s impeachment trial. It was a serious job that left no time to celebrate.
