John, this is a critical step to strengthening and supporting our brave men and women in law enforcement.
Governor Eric Holcomb led the groundbreaking ceremony for a significant $95 million expansion of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) training facility.
ILEA plays a pivotal role in shaping over 600 Hoosier law enforcement officers annually. It is the state's sole residential facility, hosting student officers from across Indiana undergoing training. This groundbreaking project will usher in a new era, featuring a state-of-the-art dormitory, modernized classrooms, enhanced training facilities, Indiana State Police offices, an emergency vehicle track, and a scenario-based training village.
“I am proud to break ground on this world-class facility so we can continue training up law enforcement officers throughout our state…It is critically important to invest in police instruction and training, and Indiana is doing just that.” — Gov. Eric Holcomb
