Our second border wall project is 3.5 miles in length and built in Mission, Texas which is in the Lower Rio Grande Valley. Construction of the wall finished near the end of January 2020. This is the first ever border barrier in the state of Texas that is actually built within feet of the border, instead of miles inland like the US Army Corps of Engineers has been doing for decades.

This location is a hot bed for illegal drug activity and cartels smuggling human cargo. During the initial days on the property 2 deceased bodies were discovered and we had many major Border patrol busts on the property itself, one included a high speed chase where the cartel smuggler evaded border agents and crashed his vehicle into the Rio Grande River and swam back to Mexico.

This project was spearheaded by Fisher Industries, and We Build The Wall was a passive investor into the $40 Million project. This project goes to show you how We Build The Walls’ movement to unite Americans who share a common belief in border security has grown into a larger movement of privatized wall builders.

The wall itself is very similar to the first project, except for a few changes due to the location. There’s no need for the anti-climb plates as the wall itself is coated to be slippery with sweaty hands or a wet body after coming across the Rio Grande. Also a rope ladder will not work as there’s nothing for it to grab onto, it will wall through to the ground. This wall also has FODS – Fiber Optic Detection System which alerts agents of any seismic detection within 50′, and finally it has LED security lighting to illuminate any wouldbe crossers.

With this full package the wall is smart and will deter all illegal activity from this area.
