It’s a busy time, John. It’s not only the beginning of the new school year, but I’m also kicking my campaign into high gear as we quickly approach election season in the Commonwealth.
District 16 is the top pick-up opportunity for Democrats in the State Senate. I’m running against the chief sponsor of a restrictive, anti-abortion bill—and she’s blanketing our district with TV ads right now.

I’m the only full-time teacher in the General Assembly, and I’m ready to get to work in the Senate and continue to advocate for our public schools, confront the gun violence epidemic, stop the GOP crusade on censoring books, block attacks on LGBTQ+ students, and protect abortion rights.
On the other hand, on top of advocating for stricter abortion laws in the Senate, my opponent has worked to slash public education funding in favor of ideological charter schools and pushed to end school mask mandates and fully open K-12 schools at the height of the pandemic before vaccines were available.
This November, we have a powerful opportunity to vote her out, flip this seat, and protect our narrow Democratic majority in the Senate. But as a full-time public school teacher running a grassroots-powered campaign, I’m counting on your support to help us win.
