I deeply appreciate you sharing your time, and I enjoyed reading this team’s responses.
So team, I wanted to share some of the things that folks shared with us:
Nicole P. highlighted how important it is that we work to find bipartisan solutions to the issues facing New Jerseyans and folks across the country.
I couldn’t agree more. Throughout my tenure in Congress, I have always made it a priority to find partners across the aisle who are willing to put aside their disagreements and make compromises in order to make a difference — it’s a big reason why I’ve been named the most effective New Jersey House member by the Center for Effective Lawmaking.
Whether it’s funding the Gateway Tunnel, fighting for veteran mental health care, or shoring up our supply chains, my door will always be open to anyone who’s willing to work together in good faith to deliver results for families.
Barbara S. expressed concern about the threats that the extreme wing of the Republican Party poses to our democracy.
There is no question extremist Republicans are undermining our democratic institutions and our fundamental freedoms. Just look at Senator Tommy Tuberville — he’s risking our national security and threatening our military readiness all because of his own personal, anti-abortion agenda. As someone who served in defense of our country, this is something I take very seriously. I’m going to keep doing everything I can to hold extremist Republicans like Sen. Tuberville accountable and defend our democracy.
It’s also clear that folks want results in their local communities. Lawrence J. mentioned that we must prioritize the safety of our roads and highways. Wendy M. noted that housing affordability is a major challenge for folks throughout New Jersey and across the country.
Team, every day, I’m honored to serve for folks like Nicole, Barbara, Lawrence, and Wendy. I’m excited to head back to Washington and continue chipping away at these important issues. But today, I’m asking for your help.
All summer, Kevin McCarthy and House Republicans have brought in record-breaking sums from right-wing donors, and dark-money allies are already lining up to target seats like mine and expand the GOP’s extreme majority. And to make progress on all of these important issues and more, we must take back the House majority.
So I’m personally asking: Will you chip in $10 or any amount to send me back to Congress, defend toss-up seats, and build the resources we need to respond to Republican attacks? Our end-of-month deadline is just a week away, so any amount you give will make a meaningful impact for our campaign. [[link removed]]
