Security screening to begin this fall
State-of-the-art security screening technology is coming to OAH next month. This improvement is the result of funding OAH received during the 2023 legislative session.
What's changing
Beginning this fall, all visitors entering our St. Paul courtrooms will first pass through a security screener. Our new screener, Evolv Express, is the same system that Target Field began using this year.
Why?
* OAH is the only court in the Twin Cities area that does not use security screening.
* The National Center for State Courts identifies entry screening as a court?s first line of defense against security risks in court buildings.
* Security screening ensures that everyone appearing at a court proceeding has the opportunity to safely express their own viewpoint.??
Timeline
The screener will be installed on?*September 5 and 6*.?Screening of courtroom visitors will begin later in the fall.
