It's nearly that time of year again, team: The beginning of another school year!

As summer comes to a close, folks all across the country are gearing up to send their kids and grandkids back to school. And as the son of two now-retired public school teachers and the father of two kids who attend public school, I know all about the mixed emotions this time of year holds for many of us: excitement, anxiety, pride, and more.

It seems that with every passing year, our kids and their schools face a new set of challenges from gun violence, attacks on fundamental curriculum, COVID-19 outbreaks — and so much more. I understand the concerns folks have — not just as your representative, but as a dad myself, and I remain committed to working every single day to fight for the safety of our students and teachers.
