Tim Carney is a resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute and the senior political columnist at the Washington Examiner. He is the author of Alienated America: Why Some Places Thrive While Others Collapse and two earlier books, Obamanomics and The Big Ripoff. His articles have appeared at the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, the Atlantic, National Review, and Reason Magazine. He has appeared on Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, CNBC, and PBS Newshour. He and his wife raise six children and two dogs in the Washington, D.C., area.
